Hope and support through hair donation

In October 2023, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, KEIT launched and supported “Në emër të jetës” (“In the name of life”), a voluntary hair donation initiative in Tirana. People were invited to donate their hair to help women going through cancer treatment.

The donated hair was used to produce 50 wigs for women affected by breast cancer. Hair loss during treatment can be one of the hardest changes for patients, and a wig can help them feel more like themselves and face daily life with more confidence.

The initiative complements KEIT’s annual free breast ultrasound campaign, combining early detection with practical support for women during treatment.
