The quality of a surgical journey begins with the selection of the professionals involved. KEIT Day Hospital selects surgeons who meet high standards of professional and personal integrity and possess the specialist expertise required for the procedures they perform.
The surgeons at KEIT Day Hospital are specialists in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) or Maxillofacial Surgery. They are duly registered with the Medical Order of the Republic of Albania and hold the individual licence required to practise in the country.
KEIT Day Hospital also supports the operating surgeon in achieving the objectives agreed upon with the patient, providing the necessary support in accordance with current medical and surgical knowledge while respecting the aesthetic and functional integrity of the treated area.
Decisions concerning the surgical journey are made with respect for the patient's autonomy and prior approval, according to the circumstances of the individual case.
Postoperative care and free check-ups, including remote follow-up
The care process does not end with aesthetic surgery. The postoperative phase requires check-ups, dressing changes and appropriate monitoring of the healing process. For this reason, KEIT Day Hospital fully covers the costs of postoperative dressings and check-ups carried out at its facility in Tirana.
Each patient also has a dedicated nurse who provides continuous assistance, 24 hours a day, for at least one year from the date of surgery. Monitoring may continue beyond this period according to individual needs, while a dedicated emergency contact number allows patients to reach the clinic at any time if they experience problems or have concerns.
The follow-up programme includes at least four scheduled check-ups, included as part of the care provided:
-
After 1 month: First postoperative check-up.
-
After 3 months: Second check-up.
-
After 6 months: Third check-up.
-
After 12 months: Fourth check-up.
Additional assessments may be arranged depending on the progress of recovery and the surgeon's recommendations.
Care also includes online follow-up appointments via video call, which can be conducted with the clinic's medical staff, the operating surgeon or other collaborating surgeons. Patients travelling from Italy may also have the opportunity to attend in-person check-ups with surgeons from KEIT Day Hospital's professional network in Italy, subject to availability and the organisational arrangements of the service.
These options allow international patients to maintain direct contact with healthcare professionals even after returning to their home country. Remote assessments make it possible to monitor recovery when the clinical situation allows, while situations requiring a direct examination are managed through in-person appointments.
Dedicated assistance in the event of complications or unsatisfactory results
Every person's body responds differently to surgery, and the healing process can vary from one individual to another. In some cases, postoperative complications may arise or the outcome may not fully meet the patient's expectations.
In these circumstances, KEIT Day Hospital provides the necessary medical and surgical assistance at its own expense, either at its facility in Tirana or, depending on the needs of the individual case, through online consultations. The aim is to support the patient throughout the recovery process and towards the best possible outcome, taking into account their individual characteristics and the possibilities offered by current knowledge in aesthetic surgery.
The primary point of reference remains the surgeon who performed the original procedure. However, if the patient wishes to receive care from another professional, they may request the involvement of a different collaborating surgeon at KEIT Day Hospital, subject to organisational availability. This means that continuity of care can also include an assessment by another professional within the clinic's surgical network.
Free corrective procedures when necessary
In rare cases, a further corrective procedure may be necessary to improve the outcome of an operation. When such a procedure is considered necessary and technically feasible, based on the current knowledge and experience of the surgical team, KEIT Day Hospital covers its entire cost, at no additional expense to the patient. Transfers to and from Tirana Airport are also included.
Patients also retain the freedom to choose not to have the corrective procedure performed by the surgeon who carried out the original aesthetic surgery. In this situation, the clinic provides another surgeon from its group of collaborating professionals, at its own expense.
The decision to proceed with a corrective procedure always requires an individual medical assessment, taking into account the patient's condition, the outcome achieved and the realistic possibility of improvement.
KEIT guarantee: two years of patient care and support
Through the KEIT Guarantee, KEIT Day Hospital provides two years of coverage from the date of surgery for assistance in the event of complications and for any corrective procedures considered necessary and medically feasible. The guarantee does not constitute a promise of predetermined aesthetic results. Rather, it represents a concrete commitment to maintaining continuity of care and assessing opportunities to improve the outcome, while taking into account individual clinical circumstances and current medical and surgical knowledge.
Following surgery, the patient receives the KEIT Guarantee Certificate, which includes the patient's name, the date and type of procedure, together with the clinic's stamp and signature. This document formally records the commitments undertaken and the protections provided under the guarantee. To maintain the validity of the guarantee, patients must follow the postoperative instructions provided in writing, attend scheduled check-ups, either in person or via video call, and promptly inform the clinic of any problems or changes during recovery.
A separate lifetime guarantee is also available for breast implants placed at KEIT Day Hospital. In the event of confirmed implant rupture, this guarantee provides for the replacement of both implants, subject to the contractual conditions.
